Hang over illustrations.

For those who didn't know, all the illustrations from "A boy meets a tall girl" were redrawn from illustrations in a sketchbook from 2006. I call them the 'hang over' illustrations because they were done during the painfully boring Monday morning lecture at uni, and Jean and I would be sitting next to each other exhausted and discovering random things in our pockets from the night before. So for those who did know and requested to see them, here are a couple that I managed to dig up.

Oh and if you didn't manage to attend last Saturday's zine fair, I still have a few copies of both "Where did my sock go?" and "A boy meets a tall girl" left over, so let me know if you'd like a copy.

Zine Success.

So the zine fair was a success, I managed to sell a lot more than I had expected which was really cool. Thanks to everyone who bought some of our books, you're all very cool, especially the awkward little elf who bought my sock book and then gave me her CD (your music is magical). And also special thanks to Ayano once again for inviting me to sell zines with her (her books are precious and you should order a copy through her if you didn't get one last Saturday) and also to Hannah, because she's very cool and constantly inspires me (that's her sitting next to me above).

Sticky Zine Fair.

All packed and ready to go! Nervous as fuck (I'm not good with sitting around while people look at my stuffs), it's beer and left over lasagne for me this morning before I head down the Degraves Subway for some massively exciting zine action.

I'm also really excited to see the two little books that my talented little friend Ayano has made. She was the one who had invited me to sit and sell some books with her at the Sticky Zine Fair... I will give yous so many hugs later xx.

Book Preparation.

My living room has been transformed into a mini book factory as I slowly but steadily bind 30 "Where did my sock go?" books for Sticky's zine fair on February 13th, which is this coming Saturday. This painful process will be updated regularly here.

I will also be churning out 20 copies of a new book called "A boy meets a tall girl" for the fair. It's a little story about my friendship with one of my favoritest girls in the world, Jean.

Til then, my hands hurt and there's only two beers left in the fridge.

Book Fascination.

I've always had a fascination with old books, especially those with names or birthday wishes scribbled on first page. I usually pick up a few illustrated children's books at the market, but last Sunday I stumbled upon three really beautiful old hardcover books, and I've already started to illustrate in the first one, "The Hunters' Feast".

Sock book.

Just completed the first of my books which I'm hoping to finally print and sell at a zine shop. It's a story about what a pain in the ass it is when you lose one of your socks.
